Magnolia Children's Academy and Magnolia Enrichment Center are local and family owned. It all began as just a dream many years ago. Don Fountain and his father-in-law, Vince Miraglia, both of whom were in education, had always talked about opening a childcare center. Throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s, they looked at quite a few centers for sale in the area, but none caught their eye. After Vince passed away in 2002, the dream of owning a childcare center seemed to pass with him.

 

Then in 2013, an opportunity presented itself when the childcare center Don’s son, Nick, had been working at for several years went up for sale. A company was formed in Vince Miraglia’s name, VFM Educational Services, LLC, and Don pursued the purchase of the center. However, after months of negotiations, the sale of the center fell through.

 

In 2019, Nick was approached by a member of the community after a local center closed. After discussing the opportunity with Don, they decided to make the leap and open their own facility aimed at providing care for school-aged children. The center would offer top notch education enrichment for early learners. Magnolia Enrichment Center would be a step above the rest by not only offering tutoring and before & after care, but also programs like first aid, emergency preparedness, civics, sign language, Spanish, Yoga, Emotional ABCs and Involved Kids – a community service-based program.

 

In March 2020, Magnolia Enrichment Center was set to open. Unfortunately, COVID-19 had other plans and the state of Pennsylvania was shut down. Fortunately, Magnolia Enrichment Center was able to officially opened for Camp Magnolia in June 2020.

 

Along with Nick's wife, Nancy, the family opened a second center offering care for infants through school age in Gilbertsville, PA in August 2021. The location in Skippack also continued to grow and expand. In 2023, Skippack began offering care for toddlers through school-aged children.
